Carryn first discovered yoga when she was a teenager as a powerful way to heal from intense ballet training and an eating disorder. In her 20s, her love for yoga blossomed as she went on a worldwide journey of discovery to complete extensive yoga teacher trainings with renowned teachers in India, Thailand, Indonesia and South Africa. Now in her 30s, Carryn maintains a strong and daily personal practice, which was mostly physical to start but has become increasingly spiritual.
Carryn has recently completed an intensive two-year Diploma in Yoga Therapy in London, which integrates yoga as a support for illnesses ranging from autoimmune conditions to chronic fatigue and mental health issues. With over 10 years of teaching experience in Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga, Carryn is passionate about using yoga to help people achieve optimal health and wellbeing.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Carryn has an Honors Degree in Psychology with a passion for health psychology and research. She works with yoga therapeutically and her classes are tailored to individual students’ needs. She is always looking for new and creative ways to engage clients and inspire the use of yoga not just as an exercise routine but indeed as an integrated experience of body, mind and spirit to support a life of abundance.
