Jey (short for Geraldine) is a French Pilates and ballet instructor who teaches her method throughout Asia and Europe. She was based in Shanghai, China for seven years where she co-founded the successful Belle Maternity program, supporting women through their pre- and post-pregnancy journeys. She also teaches regularly at retreats in Thailand and across France.
Since the age of four, Jey devoted herself to ballet which provided the roots for her multi-disciplinary training in human movement including ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. She was trained with the best including Pietragalla in Marseilles, Rosella Hightower in Cannes and The Russian Ballet of Monaco.
After an injury, she moved away from a professional career in dance and learned to speak Chinese at the National Institute of Eastern Civilizations and Languages in Paris, where she graduated with a Major in Chinese.
To understand her own injury, she also became passionate about anatomy and various wellbeing techniques to gain both strength and mobility. She obtained her professional diploma of dance and then Pilates at Studio Danse Pilates in Paris with the Original Romana Method in 2014. In October 2018, Jey went on to obtain the prestigious Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Comprehensive qualification in the contemporary Pilates Method. Her experience teaching both classical and contemporary Pilates comes across in her sessions which are a harmonious combination of precision, control and creativity.
Jey is a freelance Pilates instructor at CREW Pilates where she shares her high-standard of expertise and international teaching ideas.
