Shona spent her childhood living in different countries in Asia and went to a progressive experimental boarding school in the UK as a teenager. She graduated from university in 1987 with a Philosophy and African and Asian Studies degree. Voyaging and adventure is in her blood: a year onboard the QE2 cruising around the world; a year backpacking and hitchhiking through North Africa; a ride hitched onboard a sailboat heading for the Carribbean; a meeting with her life long partner and a passion for the sea.
A stay in San Diego allowed her to develop her passion for the human body at Massage School. The dots continued to join. A family. A house. Friends. Roots. Today in the south of France she continues to voyage and study. The human body, mind and spirit have become her daily travel ground.
Shona’s approach to bodywork is to meet her clients where they are at and facilitate a space for them to become the best version of themselves. Shona draws inspiration from a variety of disciplines including deep tissue, sports massage, passive joint movement, Swedish, myofascial release, thai, wou tai, reiki, shamanism, taoism, mindfulness and yoga. Each session is bespoke – tailor made and drawing on her wealth of experience and richness of knowledge about the human body. She works with a variety of clients, from ironman triathletes aiming to maximise their performance on a very physical level to individuals on a journey of spiritual and emotional development.
